Shetland House is owned by the Society.
The daily running of the Society is conducted here and Council Meetings are held on the premises in the boardroom four times a year. The International Shetland Pony Committee Meetings have been hosted here several times.
Members are very welcome to take the opportunity to call in person at Shetland House where the office team will make you very welcome and there are lots of interesting books, artifacts and displays to see as well as Shetland Pony promotional items for sale. No appointment necessary, however we ask to check Council meeting dates and if possible avoid these days.
Currently there are four staff employed in the office at Shetland House. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce them to you as these are the people who deal with your telephone queries on a day to day basis. They each have specific roles although each is able to carry out all duties and procedures required to maintain the smooth running of the Society.
Claire is the Office Manager and her duties include staff management, and stud-book publication. She works full-time and deals with all administration in the running of the office. She has worked for the Society for many years and many members have met her when she has been in attendance at the sales.
Barbara works Monday 9am to 3pm and Tuesday to Thursday 9am to 2pm. She started on 1st August 2022 and is currently learning all aspects of the office’s work.
Pauline has worked for the Society part-time for several years and is able to work in all departments and is involved with the production of the magazine. Pauline also deals with Voluntary Vet Examinations.
Victoria has been with the society for some time and is responsible for online orders from the Shetland Pony Trading website and the Society accounts.
